Cost 2: Broken social sharing

The data

In a CSR app, OG tags are typically injected by React Helmet or similar libraries — via JavaScript. The raw HTML contains no OG tags.

Google's own documentation recommends server-side rendering for critical content. CSR is supported, but with caveats that can meaningfully impact your search visibility.


Cost 4: No structured data for non-Google crawlers

The data

If you've added JSON-LD structured data via React components, it only exists in the rendered DOM — not in the raw HTML.

This means:

  • Google sees it (after rendering)
  • Bing may or may not see it (inconsistent JS rendering)
  • AI crawlers never see it
  • Social bots never see it

Structured data helps AI systems understand your entities (Product, Organization, FAQ). Without it, AI has less context for building knowledge graph entries about your product.
